Getting ready for 1st baptism

I swear I thought I would have more time! I always thought it's ok that will be in a while or I will so have that taught by the time she needs to know it. Now I realize that Katlyn was close to being baptised and I so wasn't ready and I know that I hadn't prepared her. One thing that I was sure that I wanted to get done was to get my wedding dress made into a baptism dress for Katie to wear. I found an amazing lady to do it, so one day I haul the dress over to her with Katlyn and Katlyn tells the lady what she has in mind and she does this little sketch. Then I left the dress with her and went home with Katlyn. Then later that night I had my one moment of panick! I walked into my room and realized that it was gone and what if it didn't turn out the way we had envisioned! That passed very quickly and before I knew it she had it done. We were sooo excited to see it. We went right over and as she pulled it out of the bag I wanted to cry! It was soo perfect! I could not have asked for a more perfect job. I felt so overwhelmed to see a dream truly come true and then to see my little girl walk out in it melted my heart! She looked so adorable and I knew that she felt like a perfect princess. Katlyn was so amazed that I would do that for her. I remember always trying on my moms wedding dress when I was a girl and I watched Katlyn do the same with mine. I thought nothing would be better than to see the dress be made into something so special for her and so meaningful for both of us. The first pictures of the dress were so cute and you can see how cute Katlyn thought it was.

It truly looked like a little mini wedding dress, it was so precious!

One other thing that I did decide to do to help prepare since I had totally dropped the ball was to have Katlyn take the missionary discussions, I know seriously we are active members but I really wanted her to know what she was doing and to get as much knowledge as possible and I thought this was a fantastic way to make sure that she had as much understanding as she could at this age. Plus it was awesome to experience part of what people experience when learning about the church through the missionaries. It was well worth it for all of us. I really enjoyed it.

Catching up/lost time!

Ok so apparently I lost all focus on a blog! I became so busy and so many things happened and even with best intentions this was never on the list of things to do. I am going to start catching up now, hope I can remember everything that happened on the crazy but amazing ride!

Logans Preschool Graduation

Logans Preschool teacher is amazing! Mrs. Redd has him reading and put on a fantastic graduation.
They all looked so cute in their cap and gowns. Logan was really up set for the first part of the program because he didn't want to wear a dress. His little face in the pictures are so funny.
The program was really cute and they each got a diploma, a trophy (that was the kids idea), and a book. Then at the very end they all threw their caps in the air. Soo Cute!!!

I just love this little guy, he is always so quick to give hugs and kisses!

Muffins for Moms

The Second graders do Muffins for moms every year at Katlyns school. Katlyn was so excited for it.
They all had to dress up and they put on a program with lots of really sweet songs. Katlyn had a
speaking part where she got to go up to the microphone and she said "Your kind, your loving, and also
pretty sweet, I love you mommy!" Totally made me cry.

Look how brave she looks up speaking in front of everyone! I love her!

This is her best friend Averie.
Katlyn is the sweetest little girl and I love her so much. She is growing up so fast and I wish she could stay young for ever.

Easter

This is the first year that we have done the Cedar Hill Easter egg hunt. The kids had a blast but I would rather take them to the store and buy them a bag of candy. Katlyn did pretty good but Logan is still a little shy about grabbing candy.

Easter morning is always fun. Katlyn kept waking up all night wanting to go see if there was candy yet. She was so excited but oh I was so tired. They both got some great stuff.

I love the pure joy you can see on Logans face. He loves candy.

Oh look the Easter bunny hide stuff up high!

Half Birthdays!

Both of my kids birthdays are in July which I have grown to love. We can have lots of fun partys, play out side if we want. There are a few draw backs. They both fall by holidays so friends are sometimes out of town or Katlyn wants to invite someone from her class but I don't know the parents or how to find them. Each year in school they do half birthays so that even the kids with summer birthdays can have a special day at school for their birthday. Katlyns teacher this year let them pick the day they want to celebrate. My sweet daughter decided that she wanted her half birthday to be on my birthday the 24th of March! She cracks me up, I love that she loves me and thinks that I am cool but I swear she would have us dressing the same everyday if she could. Of course I let her do her half birthday on the 24th so on my birthday I drove down and got her the coolest balloons and a little treat box, picked up air heads for everyone in her class and headed to the school. The office lady was a little bit of a grump when I walked in with the balloons and said I couldn't leave them with Katlyn(party pooper!) I got to Katlyns class and she was so excited. By the way all the kids thought the balloons were awesome!!! I took pictures and Katlyn handed out her class treats and then we got to sing happy birthday to Katlyn and me! I told the class little things about Katlyn growing up. It was a great day! After school one of her friends came over and Katlyn was going threw her treat box and her friend said "Katlyn you have the nicest mom ever, no really she is really really nice!" That made my day!
By the way Katlyn requested that we both wear out popular shirts we got in Wicked. See she loves me!!!
